Oregan Networks Announces Partnership with Orca Interactive for Global IPTV Market
The partners plan to enable triple-play services and home networking via a unified UI on Consumer Electronics and Consumer Premises Equipment in Q3 2005London, UK, 27 May 2005 - Oregan Networks, a leading supplier of embedded software building blocks for digital home entertainment platforms, and Orca Interactive (LSE: ORCA), a global market leader in developing applications for IPTV, have joined efforts aiming to provide flexible ready-to-market solutions for IPTV, including broadcast over IP, VOD, network PVR, and broadband rich media entertainment to telecoms, system integrators and device manufacturers.
The resulting ecosystem enables Internet access via Oregan Networks' W3C-compliant TV Browser, multicast and unicast audio and video streaming over xDSL and FTTH connectivity, as well as interoperable multi-room entertainment: reception and distribution of digital media available on the home Ethernet or wireless network.
